Dana Grykin, 56, was charged with five counts of fourth-degree animal cruelty, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay said in a news release on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Police executed a search warrant on Friday, Oct. 4, removing Grykin's horses from her property on the 100 block of Norcross Road. The state agriculture department assisted the county prosecutor's office and Winslow officers.

Investigators said the horses were severely emaciated and dehydrated in a small stable without much room to graze or feed.

"The horses were removed from the property and taken to a farm where they will be properly cared for with adequate food, water, and room to run and graze," said MacAulay.

Anyone with information about the case should call the Camden County Prosecutor's Office at 856-225-5127.
